The UX410 is our heavy duty 500 Series compatible rack system. Each UX410 rack holds up to ten 500 series compatible modules and is powered by a super clean external DC linear power supply. Each UX410 has its own DC power switch to facilitate powering down individual racks for quick module changes. LEDs provide clear power indication status at all times and front panel fuses allow for easy fuse replacement in the event a module fails and/or draws excessive current. All power rails are fuse protected in the rack along with DC branch fuses in the external PSL410 power supply for maximum system protection.

The UX410 PCB motherboard is meticulously laid out for maximum shielding and clean power distribution. High quality SMD bypass caps are located directly at each of the module connector power pins for additional bypassing. We’ve also given detailed attention to the chassis, analog and power ground scheme throughout the PCB and enclosure design. Each channel also contains 1/4″ option I/O jacks that module designers may use for additional signal routing features and functionality.

Heat is the enemy of nearly all electronic systems. The UX410 provides a temperature-controlled fan cooling system rather than convection cooling like other designs. Cool air is pulled from the left-hand side of the rack and across all modules and then forced out the right-hand chassis side by a low noise long life DC fan. The forced air design allows for stacking UX410 racks directly on top of each other without the need for spacer/vent panels between units in your studio gear racks. So, the UX410 saves you precious rack space, allows for easy module changes and all your 500 modules run cooler for a longer life.


The PSL410 is our ultimate all linear power supply for the UX410 ten module rack system. The PSL410 supply provides up to 1.5A of continuous duty power without suffering the heat concerns and startup over current problems that can plague cheap switching supplies.


The PSL410 contains soft-start circuitry to avoid start-up over current problems when powering many modules with large capacitive and inductive loads. The 16V power rails gradually ramp at power-on and allow the load to charge slowly initially. This feature greatly reduces the in-rush surge at power up and extends component life as well as the life of your modules.


The PSL410 is equipped with large efficient heatsinks and a low velocity low noise internal fan. The fan is thermostatically controlled, and the speed of the fan increases as the ambient temperature inside the unit rises. The fan will run at lower speeds with less fan noise under light load and/or temperature conditions. Likewise, the fan will run at higher speeds if the unit is under heavy load or placed in a hot environment.


The PSL410 contains a high current toroid transformer custom designed and wound to our specifications and requirements. The transformer is wound using a low noise winding technique and is specifically designed for use with audio applications. The toroid transformer also contains and internal ground screen between the primary and secondary windings for additional electrostatic noise isolation.
